Branched Amphipathic Peptide Capsules (BAPC) is a unique delivery system that can be applied to animal and human health as well as population control in pest, plant and animal species. This novel nanomaterial made up of natural biodegradable amino acids has the capacity to improve delivery capabilities of new vaccines, cancer therapies, alterative antibiotics, agricultural biopesticides, and potentially, a cost-effective water purification system. Initial utilization of the BAPC technology will be as a gene transfection agent for research applications. Early studies have indicated that BAPCs effectively transport and provide intracellular delivery of a variety of nucleic acids such as dsRNA, plasmids, and oligonucleotides in cell culture, leaf cuttings and insects.
